1/607 carat (58 faceted) full-cut diamond
This tiny masterpiece was created by Monnickendam at our Brighton Factory by renowned cutter Keith Bowen, in 1965. Mr. Bowen, typical of our cutters, was constantly testing the extremes of his abilities and managed to cut a perfect 58-faceted fully polished 1/607 carat diamond. After seven disappointments his determination was rewarded, when, on his eighth attempt, he created the perfectly cut diamond. Masterpieces are not created overnight, and in the case of Mr. Bowen, it required 7months. What may seem as simply cutting a very tiny diamond, in fact, began with the development of an entirely different set of cutting tools required to complete such a technically advanced microscopic operation.
